Afrodita by Giannina Azar

I had the wonderful opportunity to attend at Giannina Azar's fashion show during Dominicana Moda 2012. It was Wednesday and it was raining; hurricane Sandy decided to be part of the event but that did stop the show. At first, it was kind of messy to get inside the tent, the line was huge! Caos! After I was inside, I found my seat and waited a couple of minutes for the show to start. (Quick note on that: congrats to de DM crew, the shows were almost puntual! Big points!)

Giannina Azar is a renowned designer here in DR, her collections always embrace women from the attitude to the silhouettes; this collection was not an exception. Inspired by Afrodita,  the Greek goddess of love, beauty, pleasure, and procreation, the designer used many ornamental accessories to complement her looks. Embroidery, peals, beads and gold, LOTS of gold! A collection rich of details and craftsmanship. I loooooove the head pieces, very Rodarte which means "very trendy". Bravo!
